Dr. Johnson personal story
One of the reasons I am so passionate about the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias is because of my personal journey with this illness. My maternal great-grandmother, maternal grandmother and mother have all been impacted by some form of dementia. I personally witnessed the cognitive and functional decline in my grandmother. However, I was unprepared for the early onset diagnosis that my mother received around the age of 59. Although the journey with all of my loved ones has been uniquely different, it has further ignited my desire to help others that are dealing with this difficult disease. My platform is meant to help, support and inspire both lay persons and professionals that are dedicated to addressing dementia.
